E913 - Lanolin
By the Daat team · Updated October 30, 2026
E913 is lanolin, wool grease from sheep. It is the usual source of vitamin D3.
As a food additive it is almost unused in Israel, and we did not find it in our catalog. But if a product is fortified with vitamin D3, the vitamin itself was probably made from lanolin, which is why vegans look for D3 from lichen, or D2.
