Delete Your Daat Account
Last updated: September 17, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Daat account and exactly what happens to your data. You can do it yourself from inside the app, on Android and on iOS, without contacting us.
Delete your account from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it works on both Android and iOS. The deletion is immediate and permanent — it is not a request that waits for us to process it.
- Open Daat and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- Tap "Delete account".
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
On iOS, Apple requires the Sign in with Apple grant to be revoked as part of deletion, so the app asks you to confirm with Apple once before it proceeds.
If you cannot open the app
Email hello.daat.app@gmail.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and delete the account for you.
If you used Daat as a guest, there is no email attached to the session. A guest account is reachable only from the device that created it, so use the in-app route above; signing out of a guest session leaves its data unreachable to anyone, including us.
What is deleted
Deleting your account erases your sign-in identity and everything attached to it:
- Your account itself, and the link to Google or Apple.
- Your profile: display name, chosen plan, dietary conditions, sensitivities and requested kashrut level.
- Your personal metrics: birth year, height, and every logged measurement of weight, fasting glucose and LDL cholesterol.
- Product reports you submitted for missing or incorrect items.
- Community lifestyles you authored, and your membership in any you joined.
- Your scan history, which is stored on your device and is removed from it as part of the deletion.
What is kept
Corrections and additions you contributed to the shared product catalogue are kept, but the link between them and you is removed, so they are no longer associated with any account. They stay because other people now rely on that product information; keeping it accurate is not something we can undo for one contributor without degrading the catalogue for everyone.
Deleted data is removed from our live systems at once. Routine encrypted backups are rotated on a rolling schedule and are never used to restore a deleted account.
This cannot be undone
There is no recovery period and no way for us to restore a deleted account. Signing in again with the same Google or Apple account creates a new, empty account.
