This Privacy Policy explains how Daat ("Daat", "the Service", "we") collects, uses, stores and protects your information when you use the app, the website and any related service. Using the Service constitutes acceptance of this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account details, such as email address and login identifier.
Profile details you set: lifestyle preferences, requested kashrut level, sensitivities (for example gluten, lactose, glucose) and dietary preferences.
Content you submit voluntarily, such as product reports, corrections and label photos.

Information collected automatically

Scan history and the products you viewed.
Usage and interaction data with the Service.
Device data: device type, operating system and technical identifiers.
IP address and basic log data.

Camera

The camera is used solely to scan barcodes and photograph product labels for identification. The Service does not record audio. Label images may be sent for automatic text recognition (OCR) solely to extract the information.

2. How We Use the Information

To provide the Service and match products to the lifestyle you defined.
To save your history and preferences and enable continuity across devices.
To improve, maintain and develop the product, the database and data quality.
To secure the Service, detect misuse and prevent fraud.
For service and operational communication with you.
To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

3. Basis for Processing

We process the information based on your consent, in order to provide the Service you requested, and for legitimate interests such as improving and protecting the Service. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to this potentially affecting your ability to use the Service.

4. Sensitive Information You Enter

The sensitivity, preference and dietary details you enter are provided by you voluntarily and for your convenience only. You are solely responsible for their accuracy and updating. We do not make medical use of them, do not provide diagnosis, advice or medical treatment, and the Service must not be relied upon in this context. 5. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following cases:

With service and infrastructure providers acting on our behalf and under our instructions, such as storage and cloud services, hosting, text recognition (OCR) and analytics.
With authorized authorities, as required by law or judicial order.
As part of a corporate change, merger or transfer of operations, subject to the continued application of this Policy to the information.

6. Transfer of Information Outside Israel

Some of our service providers may operate and store information outside Israel. When transferring such information we will act in accordance with applicable law and accepted safeguards.

We will retain the information as long as your account is active and as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect our rights. At the end of the period we will delete or de-identify the information in accordance with the law.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security or confidentiality of information transmitted or stored.

10. Minors

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. A parent or guardian who believes we have received a child's information is welcome to contact us for its removal.
