What is Daat?
Daat is a free food-scanner app for iPhone and Android. You scan a food product’s barcode and instantly get a clear verdict on whether it fits you - based on kashrut, allergens, sensitivities and nutrition, matched to the lifestyle you set.
How does Daat work?
You set your lifestyle once - kashrut level, sensitivities and dietary preferences. Then you scan any product’s barcode, and Daat checks it against your profile and shows a fits / doesn’t-fit verdict with the reasons.
Is Daat free?
Yes. Daat is free to download and use. The app is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
What does Daat check on each product?
Kashrut level (Rabbanut, Mehadrin, Badatz), allergens per Israeli Standard 1145, sensitivities to gluten, lactose and glucose, and nutritional values such as sugar, fat and sodium.
Does Daat replace reading the label or medical advice?
No. Daat is an informational tool only. Always read the ingredient list and warnings printed on the product packaging, and consult a qualified professional regarding allergies or any medical condition.
Where does the product data come from?
Data comes from public databases, manufacturers, retailers, automatic text recognition (OCR) and user contributions, with a human verification step. It is indicative and not a substitute for the physical marking on the product.
